About Me
Michael O'Toole
I am the Crime Correspondent for the Irish Daily Star in Dublin. I'm originally from Belfast, but have been living and working in the Republic for the last 12 years. If you want to read the stories I write, buy The Star; this blog is about what it's like being a crime reporter in Ireland today - the stories behind the stories. And don't think I'm going to post every five minutes: I have a job to do. This is a hobby. Also, I'm only writing about crime and the coverage of crime - nothing else. My job has its moments and I think some people might be interested in what happens. Work consumes a huge part of my life, to the detriment of other, more important, aspects. But it's an addiction and it pays the bills. I speak Italian, French and Spanish - you'd be amazed the number of occasions that sees me use them in relation to my work. I'm married with two young kids.
